Chandra Krohl resides in Arlington, VA, and has had over 25 years of experience in human resources and talent management. In her spare time, Chandra "Chandi" Krohl supports her local community. In September of 2020, she put up a Little Free Library in her front yard.

The Little Free Library is a nonprofit that aims to support literacy and book-sharing on a local level by setting up little wooden boxes in neighborhoods filled with free books. People interested in setting up their own Little Free Library may either buy a premade one from the official website or build it themselves.

The website offers free blueprint plans and resources for building multiple types of libraries to suit everyone’s needs, including the basic model, a two-story model, a budget model based on a cabinet, and fun, creative designs like a replica of a schoolhouse. You can purchase a charter to register your library with the organization and have legal use of the name “Little Free Library".
